I got a Ambassador-70 (304CID) with a malfunctioning waterpump, coolant pours slowly out of the weep-hole, other then that, the pump looks pretty ok, no cracks/whatnot.

A number is inprinted in the pump, 30657A.
I read somewhere else here that it can be:

AIRTEX AW908
ASC WP402

Since I don't have any luck finding the factory-replacement (tried Kennedys,Americanpartsdepot,Ramblerparts,Summitracing) Im thinking about pulling it apart and see if there is something on it I can fix on my own? Anyone with experience?

Oh yeah, forgot question #2, is the impeller welded on the shaft or is it possible to screw it off, to get to the inne bearings?

Sold my pump just like yours part number and all, not too long ago... the way they rebuild them uses a press. If you have a press and some skills, you could do the rebuild yourself.

If not, you can contact one of the few rebuilders available. Don't trust sending out to Cardone to have them send you something wrong.

I did a search through some threads for the rebuilder names given in a reply about such issues with fixing old pumps.

Thank you so much for the links! Sent a mail to waterpumpman asking if they ship abroad, at this point I really don't care about the price, I just want the damn thing fixed! It´s really remarkable that I don´t find anyone in Sweden being able to fix it.. Oh well, to be continued and once again, thank you! :D

Gosh, i would think any good machinist with a press could do it. Have not taken apart our water pumps, but the main part I was the bearing or bearings if two are used. They just press out and press in bearing and seal on the shaft. The main issue is properly placing the flange on the shaft, as It can be placed anywhere on the shaft when pulled.

Here Is a link on the procedures with a GM pump, not much different, just GM uses a sealed back to the impeller, in how it is to be done. Just need to source parts to properly replace and function.

The P/N-Casting Number you are saying is an TRW Casting number, that is long gone.

No ball on that one I´m afraid, this was the respons I got from them a couple of days ago:
Patrick,

I am really sorry, but we cannot supply the water pump you have ordered as we do not have at ETA from our supplier
,

Edit: Just got respons from waterpumpman! However, roughly speaking we´re talking about 186 bucks, so to be on the safe side, I gotta expect that solution to cost me 200...

I found an TRW at my local dealer (www.hansenracing.) TRWFP1402
bolt-pattern matched, just need to check the clearence in the engine bay. However! the shaft for the... hub? (round plate on the shaft) is too long. Is it possible to heat the plate up and then press it down to the correct lenght and then cut the shaft? In my head, it should be possible as long as you heat the plate well enough. May it even help by putting the whole thing in the freezer a couple of hours before heating the plate?

If this plane does not sort out, I'll get in touch with WPM and get the old one rebuilt instead.
