Steve

My little American has been running nicely until an unfortunate couple of days in January. I put a post under electrical that spells it all out. Essentially the headlights failed, then the alternator failed and I caught something that shattered my screen, all this in 2 days while I was 2 1/2 hours away from home. My daughter had my daily driver so I used my Rambler to go to work in Brisbane for a few days. Anyway apart from the screen it is all fixed, simple stuff, headlights problem was a bad earth on the firewall, alternator was bad connections to the regulator (Seems I had bumped them in the dark chasing the headlight issue) so now all runs fine again. Just need to get the screen sorted, I'll be talking to the screen guy on Monday so will know what the go is then?

Cheers

Slight hiccup, a new screen seal is on it's way so a delay in fitting, maybe Friday now! So my half hour drive each way without a screen was in vain. Yeah laminated, not sure of origin I'll see if I can find out. I'll let you know the total damage when I get it fitted I may need to sit down first though.

I would rather get the laminated myself, one shattered windscreen is one too many.

New seal has arrived, should be fitted Thursday, along as it is not raining I'll take the car in.

Had a call from Jim today, confirms all Rambler parts have been sold. The buyer (I won't say who it is; they can chime in and advise their intentions if they wish) is gradually taking the parts to a new location. Mascots are still open for busines and will still be selling parts right up to the parts all going.
The Jeep side is still running, but that will be wound down too over the next 6 - 12 months.
So come on xxxxxx, let us know when you'll be open for business, your email address, website (?) and phone and fax numbers.
