Thought I'd start a new thread on this as the Ebay 4 speed has drifted off topic.
Had a call from Jim today, confirms all Rambler parts have been sold. The buyer (I won't say who it is; they can chime in and advise their intentions if they wish) is gradually taking the parts to a new location. Mascots are still open for busines and will still be selling parts right up to the parts all going.
The Jeep side is still running, but that will be wound down too over the next 6 - 12 months.
So come on xxxxxx, let us know when you'll be open for business, your email address, website (?) and phone and fax numbers.

Hopefully we find out soon the details of the new parts supplier. Until then, are we screwed or can we still purchase Rambler parts from Mascot??

From what Jim told me, parts are still available. I guess once the stuff moves to the new premises, Mascots can't sell it. Until then, what's on the shelves can be sold.

Hello to all those who are wondering what it happening to the Mascot Motors Parts. My name is Jeff Fripp and I have been a Rambler nut since I was driving around a 1970 Rambler Hornet when I was 20. Seventeen years later I am still driving Ramblers and loving it.

I have been in the automotive industry for 18 years, running a Radiator/Petrol Tank & Air Conditioning business in Castle Hill, Sydney. I already have a large range of new and used parts, with increasing demand over the years, I have decided to sell a few cars to help fund my new adventure. I will still be offering my radiator expertise, specialising in all cooling systems.

Over the next few months, I will be putting together a full list of inventory, to assist those wishing to buy rambler parts, to keep your Rambler on the road. I am in the process of developing a website, the address will be posted in the future.

For email enquiries, please contact me on ramblerspares@optusnet.com.au I will keep you posted

Good on ya Jeff.
Will you be cataloguing the parts as you get them and listing Group & Part Numbers, or by description ?
I guess Mascot's search engine and list could be transferred over to your website some how, and then added to as the list increases/decreases.
I always found Jim's prices quite fair considering what they would cost to get out of the USA.
As for having Ramblers for 17 years, you're still a yung 'un !
I got my first Rambler when I was 18, and had my 55th birthday last month. Have had a Rambler (or 2 or 3) ever since.

Keep up the good work,

Dave

I will be using factory part numbers as Jim has done over the years, as for s/h parts I may add S/H maybe or used . I need to sort out what I already have which is a task in it self. The smaller parts will be at my workshop and the larger parts like panels, engines, diffs ect be kept at my property 2 hrs away where most of my parts are aready stored. The smaller parts that are already stored will be brought back to Sydney as the larger parts from Mascot will taken up to Lithgow. I should and hoping to have most parts delivered to my workshop very soon, a short trip should be made this Sunday if Jims commitments don't change as Jims daughter is due for her second child in days..., to pick up a ute load of the ware & tare parts like suspension, hoses, gaskets ect .

To Rambler owners, I'm still here, Im now near the completion of moving amc parts from Nowra to the Workshop 3 hours one way & Nowra to Cullen Bullen my bush block were the bigger parts are held, thats 5 hrs one way. So that is a lot of driving in the last 2-3 months moving parts to new locations in between running my excisting business. I have found many parts that i did not know Jim even have.
I have only just starting doing a stock take on the parts using AMC #s. Its going to be a large list containing easly 20,000+parts, eg 300+ nos lenses,200+nos hubcaps, nos door latches for Hornet, Matador,NOS 72 Javelin,X Coupe, 66 Classic grills. nos Badges, windows, windscreens, doors, guards, even a nos high comp 70 head & 68-9 343-390 heads. nos 232,401 pistons. Just found today NOS 290v8 badges.

All parts are in the process of been listed onto the workshop computer then loaded onto a web site with images of each part. Its a slow process but its getting there. So a web site should not be to far away  in the distant future.
Reguards jeff
