Tore into the passenger side quarter of my Machine this eve. I think I can salvage the horizontal section of the fenderwell. The leading and trailing edges will need to be rebuilt.

Hey Steve

the back lower part of the fender lip looked OK - are you cutting that because you have a patch that includes that area??

Are you making your own patch panel?

will you butt weld the entire seam: TIG, MIG or braze?

The photo doesn't really show how bad it is. These are a bit clearer.

I've got some spare front fenders I sectioned out the lip area I'll use for patches. They just need a little tweaking to fit. I'll butt weld them in place with a MIG.

Going to use this fender lip to repair the wheel arch lip.

Got an NOS quarter that I'll trim down for this repair.

The repair lip will be fitted so it matches the quarter.

Used a stretcher and a shrinker to shape the front arch section.

Got the rear arch section shaped. Both of these sections don't seem to line up with what's currently on the car. The plan going forward is to cut the entire quarter off the car and trim the NOS panel to mock it up and locate the wheel well sections accurately.

Got the quarter cut off and temporarily hung the trimmed the NOS panel to get a good look at how the inner lip will match up.

Trimmed and welded in the front edge replacement.

Thanks! One piece at a time.

Did some work to the rear section. Got a bit more welding to do. The plastic wire spool cracked so the welder isn't feeding wire properly. Gotta correct that before I can continue.

More rot gets replaced.

Rear replacement section goes in.

Thanks Roger!

Cleaned up the backside of the rear wheelhouse repair.

Removed the lower section of the old panel from the trunk drop.

More rust to deal with where it meets the rear valance.
