Jerry, it only seems right that you share a name with a cool drag racing shifter. Are you getting royalties? Haha. And how about a fresh pic of that AMX.   - Greg

Brian, that transformation looks great. Any pics of the back end?

Yep, it's a lightning rod type shifter from Kilduff.  I left the clutch pedal in the car only to throw people off. Smile
And oh yeah, there's been a slight upgrade to the shifter since that picture was taken. Now it's more of an AMC style.

I've been eyeing up a set of the RWB Kilduff's for a Hornet...well played!

You will love them. Although they're not cheap by any means, they are -definitely- an attention getter.

For those not aware, once you move the left hand lever back all the way into 1st gear, (this one acts like any other common lever to shift through PRND21 if you casually street drive something), the other three levers pop forward at that time and you pull on each stick when the shift time comes for 2nd and 3rd just like you're Wally Booth running an old Pro Stock car with a Lenco. The right-most lever on mine is only to get everything into Neutral on my 904 trans. If you have an overdrive 4th gear auto trans, you can get the optional 4th lever made to activate that too.

Thanks for explaining- I didn't know how they worked. You've got to be happy with the outcome- looks great.

The nice part is you can do the burnout in regular Drive position with stick 1 holding onto the little red button on top to activate the Line-Loc, then release and pull the stick on back to 1st gear when you get done and are rolling up to the starting line. Like I said before, all the other levers jump full forward when you pull into Low. The tech guy at Coles County Dragway came up to me later on after a session and asked me what was going on with all the levers because the starting line guy told him to find out.

Little tip to anybody who wants one of these shifters: I had to file a slight amount of metal out of the shifter housing gate on the 1-2 lever to get it to fully engage into 2nd when pulling back on it. Maybe a 1/4 inch or less. The 2-3 gate was fine. I also had to drill a new cable mount hole about a 1/2 inch farther inward on the transmission shift assembly piece that rotates the 904 through the gears internally or it wouldn't catch both Park and Low good enough using the B & M cable and hardware they supply with this. This new hole allows it to travel a touch farther on it's swing throughout the ranges now. Works great! You cannot miss a gear, you can pull as hard as you like, I don't think it will break. A company guy on Youtube is beating on one with a baseball bat to demonstrate!
