Not a good sign at all. That Jim's year finished. It will take a while before the Javelin gets fixed, Hard hit and it appears a new car may be required. Bugger.UnhappyUnhappy

Latest news as from Jim Richards himself last night. (info via brother in-law)

Bad news. Yes the damage is enough to retire the car. The chassis was pushed in hard enough to damage the floor pan.

Good news. Jim has another body and it will be built during the off season. Jim is expected to miss the first and second rounds of 2013.

That's a shame he couldn't save the chassis. With todays' unibody/frame repair technology, I'd think that car could be saved instead of starting all over. I just re-read the article in The Aussy Race magazine today before I sent it to my Dad to read.  Too bad the car is not in the states. I'd like our shop to try and rebuild the car.

I'm also glad to hear that he's staying with an AMC!
