I am wondering if anyone knows where I may find a serviceable set of used manifolds. The last time I had them apart, I noticed considerable erosion between the two halves. I had a difficult time joining the two parts so it ran quietly. I figure that if I take it apart again , I should start anew. I posted on the forums wanted section

the thing to do with those old iron manifolds is to take them to an auto machine shop and have them slap them on their big belt sander, used for cheap head resurfacing. does wonders for manifolds. with only slight finagling you can put a 1982 (81 up?) aluminum intake on the early 199/232. i saves 25 lbs! i had one on my 72 232. you'll want the exhaust mani that goes with it. mind had shrunk (eh? what?) and had to notch the end loop to fit the head stud. then of course you have to re-carb and make/find linkage etc. resurfacing is easy and totally worth it. |

I have a good set of exhaust and intake manifolds from a 69 232. Problem would be the long distance shipping cost. Gotta be some closer to you on the east coast.
