I have single piston calipers on my 70 AMX.  They obviously look pretty rough.  Are these Kelsey Hayes and do you think they are original?  I thought the Bendix 4 piston calipers were stock on the 70 AMX.  I need to identify what I have, as the right front rotor is shot, and I obviously need calipers as well.  The Kelsey Hayes single piston calipers and rotors I see on APD are shown as for 71-74 Javelins?

That is not a original caliper off a 68-70 AMX, that looks like a Single Piston BENDIX, not a Kelsey Hayes.  Some one has changed the front brakes from the original to a later AMC style....71/74 AMC's did have Kelsey Hayes Calipers and Rotors.....

I'll have to get pics of the rotors, but here are different angles of the calipers.  Will the Kelsey Hayes 71-74 calipers and rotors fit on 70 AMX spindles?  I need new calipers and one rotor for sure, so might as well just replace it all.

Kelsey-Hayes. They use pins to hold the calipers on the brackets and the pads on the calipers. Bendix use a slide arrangement. The piston on the AMC K-H is 2-3/4" diameter. Bendix were either 2.6" or 3.1".

Thanks.  So what brake rotor and caliper do I order, for a 71-74 Javelin and will they work on the 70 AMX spindles?

If they were on your car already, the spindles should not be an issue.
Order 71-74 KH  rotors (fairly pricey) (Late '74s switched to Bendix)
KH calipers
pins
retainer clips
The only ones of these you might find at NAPA or Autozone, etc. would be the calipers. Your best bet is one of our AMC vendors.

Actually, I think I just found them.  Off early 80's Concord or Spirit, also fit Jeep CJ's in the 80's.

Here is a link to Auto Zone pic of caliper looks just like what I have..........

That makes more sense.
In that case, 79-83 Concord/Spirit 6 cylinder rotors will fit (even though calipers changed from Bendix to Delco.) There's a smaller disc for 4 cylinder cars you want to avoid.
