The lil old 14s need replacement
I've already test fitted 245/45-17x8 4.5bs on the fronts

Not sure what tire and rim size to go on the back.

Looking at US Mags Bandits
Both 17x9 and 18x9 have 5.25 BS with +8offset

Tire sizes would be either
275/40-18 or 275/40-17

Now I test fitted some 255/60-15 on 15x8 4.5bs
Reason was they have the same thread width and section width as the 17 and 18 combo.. But they're taller at 27.1 vs 26.6/and 25.7 ..

They have plenty of room between rim and leaf spring..1in clearance

They physically clear quarter lip but with worn suspension it'll compress and hit lower section right above the rusty area of the lip where its bulged out...
Over 1/2 inch but less then 5/8in clearance at tighest spot

Here's a pic of said 15 wheel which makes me believe both the 17 and the 18 would clear since they're both smaller in diameter

tire size i don't know, but rolling in rear fender lips i do. *bondo that rust spot after it breaks out* if the rears are taller than the front, you'll prolly need to do some geometric math and put some shims in.

I was able to get a 17 inch wheel to work using a 225/55ZR17 tire.

That 225-55 17 Should be same height as the 275 40 18 but skinnier

Stock stock/leafs?
Newe? used/worn? or lowered?
Bother shorter then the 255 60 25 I borrowed off camaro..

The picture was taken with the old worn out 6cyl leaf springs. Since then I put on new V8 leaf springs and CE traction bars.

With the new 401 I just had to do it. LOL

Either way the tires cleared. The backspace is 4.25 inch but if I had to do it again I might consider 5 inch.

rears are easy to judge. fronts are a PITA. in my experience the worst contact point is where your rust spot is, and when the wheel is turned such that the diagonal "edge" of the tire sticks out the most, *and* the suspension is compressed a bit -- exactly what happens every time you pull into a driveway.

Exactly why I did the opposite of what everyone told me to do.
I bought the tall stepped Prothane bump stops and put them on the front of the American.
With used V-8 springs and 1/ 5/8" drop plate this stops allow 4-5" of travel, don't bottom out and don't allow a tight turn and bump to put the tire edge against the wheelwell.

You'd have to get more creative to mount them on a non trunion car.
I'd probably use a piece of square tube or long angle to drop the bumpstops down to help prevent the fender grab.  Mine did it the first time I put it together and it was a bear to get the fener opening straightened back out and just plain luck it did not crack or damage the paint. The lips are rolled now.

Not worried about the front
245 45 17x8 clears the wornout i6 coils, drove around a couple neighborhood no clearance issues.

Rears they clear 27in tall tires. with the worn leafs and shot shocks they hit the lip that is pushed out at lower rear section of quarter when pushed down to simulate a bump

Got some shocks on order to fix the rebound/shock absorption issues.

Still thinking 275 40 18(26.7)..but may just get 275 40 17 to be on safe side(25.7)

This post was really more about rim fitment with the 5.25 BS and +8mm offset then actual tire height clearance since both are shorter then the 255 60 15, but seems like it was overlooked lol

Offset always confuses me
