I have an original 1969 hood that has hood louver openings or slits. They are slots that are cut into each of the hoods louvers. They are so perfect that they appear to be done by the factory before the top half of the hood was mated to the underside frame. I have never seen this on other 1969 cars and although it is very interesting looking, it does raise the question. Any other cars out there with this feature? Thoughts? Thanks, Buddy ebelzer@aol.com

Ok. Now what is meant by Piranha hood and was this a special order hood? |

I checked the internet on Piranha hood and it's different. It has 5 individual slits on the bottom of each louver or a total of 10 individual slits. Very unusual to say the least.

Are you saying the hood's simulated gills are slotted open? Like someone use a Dremel tool and drill to open up the gills (five on each side)? The more you respond to our Q&A the closer you get to 30 posts and then can post a picture directly to the forum.

Yes the simulated gills have 1/8" slots that appear to be factory stamped. A Dremel tool could not have made the 10 individual slots so perfect. It appears the top of the hood was factory stamped on the hood surface then the hood was factory spot welded to the underneath frame. Very unique. I can email or text a picture to anyone if they like just let me know. Thanks Buddy ebelzer@aol.com
