Can someone please post a picture of how the accelerator pedal linkage (1964 American 196) correctly attaches to the Holley 1909 1bbl? I'm quite sure my linkage is missing a critical part or two as the short 90 degree arm on the end of the linkage flops around in the carb's throttle shaft. I don't have enough posts to show what I'm dealing with, but photos on at least one vendor's site shows a short spring and bushing that I'm missing.
Thanks in advance... Mike |

There is a springy large c-clip that holds the linkage 90 bend firmly in the throttle arm of the carb. If you took the car apart look through any extra hardware for that clip. Joe

Thanks for the reply Joe.
Unfortunately, the linkage was this way when I bought the car and I originally thought that there's no way it could be correct. I did find a picture online showing what I believe to be the correct setup, and it shows the large C-clip you refer to. The way it was (incorrectly) set up, I think they must have only been able to get about 50% or less actuation of the carb linkage, as it was basically just flopping around. I'll try to duplicate what I found online (below) as best I can with the missing hardware. Thanks again, Mike Edited by hydromike - Oct/09/2017 at 10:51am |

Unfortunately I don't think I have an extra clip right now. But I suggest you call Galvin's Rambler Parts in Lodi, CA and see if they have one. Or you could put a wanted ad down below in the classifieds. Joe

Correction. I found one of the clips today. PM me with your mailing address and I will send it to you if you still need it. Joe
