I have a hesitation in my 1969 rambler wagon.  I have had the fuel tank etched and sealed and replaced all the rubber fuel lines.  the car runs great but....  when i get on the highway and it starts to shift into 3rd from 2nd it falls on its face and stumbles and feels like it is running out of gas.  once it shifts into 3rd
it calms down and great.  the fuel filter is new and before the fuel pump.

  Any ideals

Sounds more like a trans problem than a fuel problem. Could be a vacuum leak -- check the hose going to the vacuum modulator on the trans. The modulator itself could be bad.

Yeah, is the transmission 'flaring' between the 2-3 shift? If so, it would more than likely be a trans issue.

Can you accelerate the engine normally through the rpm range (to essentially full throttle) with the car at the curb in park?  Will the engine rev normally with the "goose" the throttle?  If not, you could have a carburetor problem or an underhood vacuum leak.  Joe

the usual questions... did it always do this? did it just start doing this? what was the most recent change or problem?

both carburetion (accellerator pump, bad low-speed circuit, just needs rebuild) and ignition (vaccum advance hose source, base timing, advance issues) can all cause part-throttle "flat spot". of course aside from mechanical issues.

need more info.

This sounds hokey, but iv seen it do miracles  (mostly for idle orifices and sometimes the cruise circuits).  Rev the engine and use the choke to gag the carb.  Best case, use seafoam in gas tank when trying this.
The shock of the full vacuum from top of carb to bottom can dislodge particles in most circuits of carb.  Not the acc circuit tho.
Try and verify if, when it presents, is it too rich or lean.  Probably lean. Dunno good luck.

Can you find a hill to climb at speed while in 3rd? Maybe top it out on any hiway? heck, rephrase that...one without a billion cars?  If its fuel,, it should be symptomatic and you can verify fuel VS tranny.

from bad to worse now,  i can't pull a hill and it is stalling like crazy and dyed once.  hard to restart but did start back up.  the car was in storage till 5 weeks ago when we brought it home had fuel issues there will tank being full of crud cleaned etched and sealed it new fuel lines and its ran great on 1 tank of fuel now its getting worse. again.  i am waiting on my trans module to show up.  im guessing carburetor or fuel pump.   the car starts right up and runs good till it starts this crap again yesterday and today really bad.

Don't rule out ignition. Sounds like intermittent spark not working under load.
I assume you changed the fuel pump too?
