Anybody know what a 913037, 7 blade flex fan came from? I now have 2 and don't know what they're for. Seems to fit my 68 Go-Pak AMX without any clearance issues. I assume they are later model fans based on the P/N. Thanx for any info.

It has a date on one or two of the blade supports probably. Look carefully for a date code.

One has a code A68, the other is D68. Could these be the date codes? Only other info, both are stamped CW very plainly.

Yes, January 1968 and April 1968 respectively.

I guess I would be under he impression that flex fans were pretty much aftermarket generic things. I have a feeling that the bolt pattern on the water pump for these things is pretty much universal.

Check the posting for "68-70 restoration details" on this message board. Here is the cut and paste of the important info:

7 blade flex fans, With Heavy Duty Cooling (WHDC):
1968: 3185020
1969: 3195201
1970: 3197749

The 1968 fan does not have the AMC PN stamped on it. It does have a PN, but I assume it is a vendor PN. It has a date code using the format A68 for January 1968. This info is only stamped in one place, where the metal is folded over near the blade. On the later fans it is stamped much larger, and near every blade. 68s used only three rivets per blade and the 69+ fans used 4+ rivets to hold on each blade.

The 1968 flex fans were copper plated and then dipped in semi-gloss black paint.
