Doug's 1-3/4 on mine. Nice headers. Flange at the ends needs to be ground down to clear head bolts or studs because the flanges are so nice and thick. That's a problem with ceramic coated headers as grinding defeats the purpose of the ceramic coating.

I welded the O2 bung into the right side collector!

Since you will doing be welding (and maybe grinding) on them you might want to go with un-coated headers.

RamblinMan made a good point! You might need to give a little more clearance on the flange to better clear the head bolts/studs, but that also needs to be done with Hooker and Hedman flanges too.

Also, if you have Edelbrock heads you will want to grind on the spark plug notches (openings) on the flange a bit to be able to get a spark plug socket on because the plugs sit at a slightly different angle on an Edel. head compared to a stock head, but thats not a big deal to do. I always touch up the ports on any header, but the Dougs ports seem to need much less touch up than the others. After you finish welding and grinding on them get them coated.

Yeah, I forgot about the spark plug issue. I had to do that as well, and the spot is a little tight for an angle grinder even with the headers OFF the car the way I did mine, so a die grinder is probably better.

The Dougs do fit manual transmissions then? Even though they don't have a listing for a manual transmission?

Just called Doug's headers, no square port avaiable. They destroyed the tooling so no special orders.

Yes, the ones listed for automatic trans fit great on my 70 AMX. They use to have a listing for manual trans, D104 IIRC. I think mine are D103's, but I need to double check.

I'm worried about clutch linkage interference. That'd be my biggest concern.

I didn't even think to ask if you were using the stock heads.
