I'll make you a deal and offer my butt dyno services for the low, low fee of $20 and a 6 pack. I can even write you an invoice on a piece of cardboard. I guarantee you'll see the numbers you're hoping for or your money back.

My dyno ranges from:
Are you kidding me faster than a Scalded dog Finer than Frogs hair Like a Raped ape Faster than a cat can lick its @#$ Fast as greased lightning. Fast as small-town gossip. Faster than a prairie fire with a tail wind. Faster than a scalded cat. Faster than double-struck lightning. Faster than a sneeze through a screen door. heck-bent for leather.
Any faster and it will catch up to yesterday. |

Where does "its a goer" fit into your scale? Previous owner told me that about a 343/4spd/3.91 Javelin I bought, and I always wondered exactly how much horsepower that meant |

Oh, and the car that you can't snatch a $100 bill off the dash, how much is that one? |

Edelbrock made the shorties to replace stock free flows in big Jeeps, and give enough of a performance increase to make it worth doing. Almost a second in a quarter mile is a big increase! Long tubes will help more for high rpm power, but I doubt they would do much more for mid range (cruising speed) than the shorties will, and the shorties will be better in low rpm conditions. In other words, the shorties should be much better for a street car, but a car intended for the strip still needs the long tubes.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Control Freaks headers.
http://www.freakride.com/product/amc-custom-long-tube-headers-polished-ceramic/ I put a set on my son's 72 Javelin. Good quality headers, tucked up high to avoid ground clearance issues. Dave Z |
