I bought an Ultrasonic cleaner at Harbor Fright.  I usually steer clear of anything electrically powered or electronic from HF due to several bad experiences.  There are a couple of Youtube videos up about this unit and it has been recommended for carb parts.  I cleaned several small batches of my Holley 1908 which belongs to the 62 Classic wagon (Leona).  The cleaner works pretty well and it has a heating element that will raise the solution temperature up to 180 F.   I used a strong aqueous solution of Purple Stuff but others have used Simple Green, among other cleaners.   It works fast and you aren't messing with strong solvents.  In fact flammables are not recommended for use in the cleaner.  Joe

Thank you.
I'll try one this weekend.

I found this review for carb cleaning (or not), FWIW:

Use for Carb Cleaning?

By Phil

Comments about Chicago Electric Power Tools 2.5 Liter Ultrasonic Cleaner:

As a previous reviewer stated this cleaner cannot be counted on to clean internal carb passageways. I also had a plugged jet that I ran through the cleaner twice and did it not unplug it.
The cleaner did do a good job of cleaning the gunk out the float bowl.
I would recommend doing a regular carb cleaner dip first and then run the parts through the
ultrasonic.
