Is the sheet metal (hood, fenders, radiator support) the same on a 70 javelin and 70 AMX?
What I'm asking is if its possible to put a 70 javelin grille assembly into a 70 AMX? I realize that the parking lights are in different locations, and that the grille and light components are different between the two cars. Thanks for your patience with a newbie question. Mike |

I just know that both types are pretty rare and expensive. If I came across a javelin grille that is nicer than the AMX one with the car, I was wondering if it would fit the AMX.
I like the look of the Javelin better than the AMX, but wouldn't want to do anything that would prevent putting the correct grille back in the AMX. I'm going to look at a 70 AMX next week, and I'm not positive what the condition of the grille is with the car. I'm trying to accumulate knowledge, not trying to upset any purists. |

Not sure what that would look like.....the AMX 70 grill is a very distinguishing feature of that car. If you decide to try the Jav grill post up some pics.... Chuck Page

Different hood latch on a '70 Javelin vs. a '70 AMX, so you'd have to have those parts too.

the sheetmetal that welded into the front of both cars is identical, the headlight eyebrows are the same. The bumpers are the same. If you get everything that mounts the grille into a Javelin, it should swap. The only reason I can think of that the hood latches might be different is cuz AMX release was down low, Javelin release was just under the hood, if I remember correctly.
