what is the correct red color for the steering column on a 1968 amx it looks like it is a flat or semi gloss

It is a low gloss, to help prevent glare. I would say no more than 20% gloss.
9518 was the Dupont number for that color, in case you have a place you can go to have it mixed.

It's flat and if you have it mixed it will have the correct level of gloss.
