. I need to buff/polish paint and do not want to damage trim.I need to replace the vinyl roof also  and need advice on removing the 'belt line /rear pillar / rear window trim. how to remove javelin badge from hood  .....and on others' [ you guys] experiences .. any other trim /badging / rocker trim ?

Refer to the TSM for install & removal. There are specific tools for removing front & rear glass window trim. You can purchase modern plastic trim removal tools for the other trim items. Some side trim is also bolted on the car at the ends. You need to look on the back side of the panel(s). Also some trim such as the hood emblems may be bolted on or held on with the push pin made into the back side of the emblem. A plastic putty knife works very effectively. As with all tools and work on cars, a little practice on using the tools without damaging the paint is a wise decision.
