i do suspect that they're factory... any maybe 54 only. i've seen a number of photos of 65's with chrome valve covers, at first i thought they were dress-up parts, but after a while i started to wonder... and the engine i got was a run-down motor in a run-down 65 wagon. not that some teenager couldn't have put the fancy cover on is ma's waggin... 50 years is a lot of time for random things to happen... but i'ms tarting to think it's a factory part. who knows -- maybe AMC bought up some aftermarket parts to install on 65's! ad Joe points out, 65 was different than all other years -- it had a modern PCV system, and was also most definitely fixed end-of-life, count 'em out the door for the 195.6. |
