I bet you could use green (permanent sleeve setting) Loc-Tite on a spun hub and be good to go on a cruiser/driver. In general when you spin the hub it peels the shallow splines form inside the hub. Pull it, clean, put back on and the hub sits 1/16" or so closer to the backing plate, which causes brake fitment issues. If the shoes don't hit inside the drum the drum hits the plate. I suppose you could take care of those issues with a grinder though. Using a used hub can lead to the same. The axle makes the splines in the hub, a new hub is a bit softer metal and smooth inside (not that you can find a new one any more). So the splines on a used hub most likely won't line up with the "new" axle, and may fit closer to the inside and/or have a weaker connection due to splines being cut between splines (they are real fine splines...). Some red loc-tite and torque down, then drive it "normally", no hard drag racing and such, and it should be good though. The "correct" way to fix a spun hub is to get a used axle with it's mated hub and change both. With parts hard to find we do what we have to sometimes though.
