Help I have a 1959 Super that has two front door locks that will not turn. The car has sat inside but I have not locked it for years. I find it a coincidence that both do not work at the same time. I pulled off the door panels and sprayed the cylinders and everything else with WD-40 and let them soak over night. I also discovered that the drivers door cylinder did not have the shaft that goes from the cylinder to the mechanism ( does anyone have one) and still would not turn. Could it have something to do with the locking mechanism that attaches to the door jam? Thanks for any tips.

Can you lock the door using the inside handle?  If you are trying to lock them with the key, are you sure that the key actually is correct for the locks?  Joe

Contact Peter Stathes  (www.amcrambler.com). He rebuilds the locks. There is a swivel at the end between the rod that goes to the latch/lock mechanism and the lock itself that is hard to find parts for -- he has them. I'd send the locks to him and let him rebuild them -- I don't know that you can find the parts to DIY.
