Looking to attach the front grille. Having trouble figuring out how to attach it to the body itself since there only four holes going through the grille (to attach to the body) but 6 more holes on the body that hide behind the grille. The the body is too thick for j nuts.

Same goes for the glove box. Since the screws need to go through behind/above the box itself, it seems like simple nuts won't do. Also, it seems like I need to bend the right side of the box to fit the end of the box around the hole...not sure...

I know this may seem pretty rudimentary, but I'm still a little new to all of this.

Thanks

P.s. I've been using #8-32 3/4in pan head machine screws, but I think I could scale down to 1/2 (if these are even the right kind to be using in the first place

Look thru these pics of the 2017 event to see a pic of a sweet 64 American! http://theamcforum.com/forum/pittsburgh-amc-get-together_topic90327_post801425.html?KW=#801425

My parts books don't go back to 64, so I can't offer any factory diagrams of how things go together. I may be able to put you in touch with the owner of the white 64, you may be able to view his car & see how it goes together.
