There were narrow 15" wheels on AMC cars back in the 60's, but they have a smaller center bore and will not fit the later hubs.

If you can live without steel wheels, some of the American Racing wheels are pretty cheap.


I've finally given up drinking for good...........now I only drink for evil.

you can have custom steel wheels made for about $100 each. I used Stockton Wheel last time. superb quality. exactly everything I wanted. new -- so they're true, clean, powder coated, they leak 0 psi per year.  

I got AMC pattern and setback, and the 16" x 7" I wanted.

AMC hub caps won't fit though.

Anecdotal maybe at this point, but the older Rambler American wheels (some of them at least) were 15 x 4.   The centers were riveted to the outer rims.  I sold four of those to a Rambler owner in San Jose a few months ago.   I would at least upgrade the technology to welded centers if/when I were buying wheels.  Joe
