I broke the head off one of my thermostat housing bolts trying to remove it. Only 3/8" of threads was left to grab on to once the housing was removed, so I did not have high hopes that this tool would work, but it did the job!

Ah, I have a set from NAPA. Though they are a standard height socket design. I thought the set would be single use item, but every once and a while I find a rounded head that is too difficult to grab with channel locks or a vice grip.
