New Milodon timing set, something missing here like the oil transfer slot, bit of marking pen on the gear to show where it should be:



Easily fixed, but something we shouldn't have to do with supposedly quality parts:



Thinking I should probably reduce the number and/or size of the slots in the front of the geat too:



I've finally given up drinking for good...........now I only drink for evil.

Wow!

I bought an SA gear tc earlier this year (I believe SA makes the set you bought as well),
and the slot was dead on.

Just shows you have to check e v e r y t h i n g  now Confused

glad you caught it and thanks for posting up pics!

Rick (sc397) brazes five of the six slots shut. Not a bad idea, IMO.

See the slot at the Nine o'clock position.   It is cut right on the oil feed passage.   The distributor gear won't get much oil.  Its a Major leak.

Yes, thinking of closing that one, one o'clock and 5 o'clock, three slots should be plenty. JB weld perhaps, probably easier than brazing them up.
