The front fender extensions are fastened with a nut that has a washer swedged to it allowing the washer to spin while attached to the nut. The 3 threaded studs on the back of the extension have a unique thread design which requires some constant torque to thread the nut on the stud.
Questions are powerful tools...what's in your toolbox?

Those nuts are a coarse, self threading nut. The studs are tapered slightly and not threaded from the factory. The nuts may or may not have a sealing compound on the washer.

They are called "stamp nuts" are are self threading.
You just have to know the OD of the pot metal, aluminum etc.  stud they go on.
I would suggest using an anti-seize compound on the stud so it does not strip or gal up.

They may also be call "Flanged Pal-Nuts", check Au-Ve-Co as a supplier,
I also applied some "dumb-dumb" to the post bases prior to installation onto the fender.
