Gates belt numbers are a little different, the first number denotes the v-belt type, the last three are the length in inches.
7 is equivalent to 15/32" or what most call 3/8" 9 is equivalent to 17/32" or what most call 1/2" The Dayco equivalent numbers to those numbers are: Gates 9640 = Dayco 17640 Gates 9620 = Dayco 17620 |

This is the belt I bought from O'Reilly Auto, shows the measurements and belt routing in case anyone needs that info.
