Has anyone successfully completed the replacement of their cluster gauges with VDO or another type of gauge?  I have looked at Autometer and some other gauges but was hoping to get feedback from a Forum member.  Seems like so many choices and companies that my head is spinning a little and I don't want to make a wrong move.  If you have input with pictures that would be very helpful as well.  Thank you.

This is definitely not a restoration post - so moving it where it belongs.
Anything related to replacing with non-original and so on is never "restoration" it's fabrication and replacement and "how to".

Matt,
I used Speedhut gauges in my 68 American. Easy install, work great, and you can custom design them. Do a search for "68 American project" on here it has pics of my install.

I used Autometer 2 5/8 gauges in three of my Americans/Rogues. Using the plastic bezel, a Dremel tool with a small drum sanding head will grind away the plastic until the gauges fit. If you remove the entire ring around each gauge, the Autometer gauges will fit perfectly and their ring will replace the removed ring. Then use some tiny lights for turn signal indicators and high beam. I can see the gauges without my glasses.
I sent you a PM.
