Bought a cam kit from Lunati ( pn 10100703). Trying to install on 3212993-1 heads but inner spring won't clear umbrella seal. Lunati was closed yesterday/today for holiday. Wondering what everybody else is doing with this situation. Also need to get single groove exhaust valves apparently. Any help very appreciated

You need different springs or cut the guide boss for smaller seals
Make sure you have enough retainer to seal clearance when you are done also. Should be ok but you need to check

Dont know your spring requirements but i had similar problem on my 291's and didnt want to remove the heads for machining. Installed these today and fit is good, id of the spring fits perfectly to the head and beehive type spring clears umbrella type valve seal. specs Product Description

I always have any performance head machined for a "positive" type valve seal. They machine the top outside of the guide to the diameter of the seal (also a good time to shorten the guide slightly for big lifts). These stay on the valve guide and the valve moves through them, unlike the umbrella seals. Bob tufcj

Why do you need single groove valves for the cam kit to work? That sounds like something that should be resolved pretty easily with the correct locks.

Are you running the rubber valve stem seals or the hard plastic type? I’m thinking the hard plastic ones might have a slightly smaller diameter.

Took heads to machine shop to have guides shortened and made .530 diameter. I'm going to use Viton seals. Machine work ran $93.00
