Help with 69 AMX wiring w/one wire alternator.

Re-assembling engine and wiring on a 69 AMX that has a one wire alternator (one of the AMC style from Ebay). The attached photo we can't figure what it was connected to. Of the four wires from it, two were not connected to anything, the yellow wire from this part was attached to the orange harness wire that would normally go to the stock Motorola alternator but have no idea where the other connector was attached to or for what purpose. Any ideas? This wouldn't be the one wire for the alternator, would it? Id think the original red alternator wire would be used. Any help appreciated.
