Hello, I have a 64 rambler with a 287 and an automatic transmission. I purchased a trans filter but it’s too big and the auto parts store can not find one similar to mine. My question is how can I tell the year and make of my transmission? On the shift side there’s a yellow oval tag with the numbers 44376. The top of the trans has stamp 5G-1 and another stamp W.G DIY and NS (6?). There also a smaller stamp on top but it’s work done and all I can read is -3. Any help would be appreciated   Thanks.

Sounds like either the M8 or M10. Do you have the 1964 TSM?

It is an M-8 or M-10. The 10 has a TV cable (or "kick-down" cable) connected to the throttle linkage.
There is no replaceable filter. It uses a fine mesh stainless steel screen which can be cleaned with solvent.
