Im replacing my intake manifold on my 72 360. It's an EDELBROCK performer. guys at the machine shop recommended I install a plate on the intake below the PCV valve to prevent oil from being sucked up into it. Doesnt the intake/valley pan do this? Or is this a good idea? no biggie if i need to do it. just wanted some AMC fan input!

If you are going to run a PCV then add the plate

Needs the plate or will consume oil, period.
Also use the metal valley pan gasket too.
Very Important.

2 Styles, early and late... early is flatter, later is "dome-ed"...

Here, a STOCK BAFFLE "cut-off" and used as a "Partial-PCV-Air-Baffle"...
