OK, I'll start my learning curve here.
The top end of my new 64 Rambler Classic's 287 is pretty clean, but as happens with old cars, there are quite a few bottom end leaks. Oil pan gasket being one of them. I was lucky enough that the car came with a factory shop manual. According to it, I have to pull the cross member and part of the front suspension to drop the oil pan. So are there any shortcuts to the process? Also, are there any trick and pitfalls I should worry about? |

Your rear main seal is next and core plugs next, front cover seal, etc...
Depending on motivation, pulling engine and doing it all once may be easier solution. Just something to consider. |

Already considered. :) If I had the time, space and funds, I'd pull it and do it all. Definitely easier and more practical, BUT I live in a small place with a 1 car garage and over-reaching HOA, so it'll have to wait till we move next year. Then I'll pull the engine and do it all. For now, I just have to stop Niagara Falls, lol. |
