  Issue resolved today, local AMC'er had 3 " spacer. That will give me  the desired 50% in/out of shroud,, thanks for all the input.  Phil A.

For a puller fan, half in half out is best to pull air through then distribute it throughout the engine bay. If it were a pusher fan, all the way in would be better. I have stacked spacers. Glad you got it figured out.
