Nice seats. If you're not concerned about going "stock" going aftermarket is the way to go, especially if the replacement seats offer variable recline/back angle. I put Recaros in my 68 AMX years ago and it made a huge improvement in comfort. Those Procars look like a piece of cake to install and they have to be way better than the OEM seats ever were.

My 69 came rotted Firebird seats. holes everywhere in the floor - many seats installed and roll bar at some point.
Took measurements from a 69 and went to several wreckers. It turned out that 2003 Honda Accord Coup seats, cloth charcoal grey, were within 1/2" in every dimension of original seats. You cannot have originals recovered and be exactly the same so this was good for me. Made a sub frame that fit the Javelin bolt holes and welded it to the Honda seat frames. Back likes it and for $100 the pocket likes it. If you can get measurements there might be something out there more modern and a lot more comfortable. Just another option.

I have the Corbeau GTS II seats, and the available Corbeau seat tracks and brackets.
The seat brackets needed a little modification, but were a better starting point than nothing. Overall I like them, I got them in leather so they will be durable. Edited by 343sharpstick - Feb/21/2018 at 8:38am |

I put Procar Rallys in my 68 AMX with automatic console, and they fit perfectly. At a mere 5'11", my head came too close to the roof for safety with the stock seats. The Procars give me much more headroom, and they are SO much more comfortable. They hold you firmly in place around the corners. They aren't cheap, but well worth the price. A couple of thoughts . . . if you're more than a 36" waist, the seats may squeeze your butt a little "tight" until you wear them in. Also, "The Menace" suggested fabricating your stock slides to fit these seats. Good advice. I bought the commercially available mounting brackets. Only four of the 6 holes lined up with the car's floor, and then only with much swearing and effort! Don't buy the brackets . . . but do buy the seats!
