I did some porting work on a junkyard head, since the head looked practically new. Put it on and it started running water out of the exhaust as soon as I started it! I mean enough to notice right away! Turned out to have a big crack deep in one of the ports. Odd place for a crack! Wasted about six hours cleaning the bowls up and didn't notice it. When I pulled it off and looked a lot closer, I could SEE the crack!! Always a good idea to check for cracks before doing any work on an unknown head. This one just looked so darn good and clean I figured the bottom end must have had an issue to put it in the junkyard... looked like a rebuilt head.
