Can anybody tell me if 15x7 4" BS will fit front and
15x8.5 4" BS work for the rear - with which recommended tire size...?
1969 Javelin - front disk factory/rear drum

Thanks in advance
Keep'em on the road, screw cash for clunkers

On a '69 AMX "ideal" for the REAR is somewhat "unobtainium" 5" Backspace 15x8 Rims 255/60/15 Tires
15x8 4-1/2" backspace leaves 1-1/8" Sidewall to Leaf Spring with 255/60/15 Tires,
so 275/60/15 Tires will fit with 15x8 w/ 4-1/2 B.S... but there are...
2 body side contour roll "crossover" points on the rear fender lip that can "cause problems".
And I had 15x7 w/ 4-1/4" B.S. on the front with 215/65/15 Radials
All 4 Rims where Wheel Vintiques Magnum 500
If I did it again, I'd probably get 6" wide for the front, but I like the 'Bigs & Littles" look,
because a 215 Section Tire on a 7" wide Spec Rim kinda "leaves exposed for damage" the Rim Lip.
I'd shoot for a 26" to 27" O.D. on the Front Tires, since a 255/60/15 Rear Tires are 27" O.D. Nominal
What I liked best was my Weld Wheel Drag Lites...
15x8 w/ 4-1/2" B.S. 255/60/15 Rears and the ol' 6.00-15's on 15x4 Drag Lites in front.
Not sure how "well" the "new" Radial 185/80/15 Tires are like, but I'd try'em on a 4" rim.

Copy and pasted this other Wheel / Rim / Tire info I have for 1969 AMX...

1969 AMX Stock Wheels and Tires

Opt - Tires = E or F-70-14 with Rims
    = 6.0 x 14 with 4.00 Backspacing (measured mine)

Std - Tires = E-78-14 (6.95x14) with Rims
    = 5.5 x 14 with ?.?? Backspacing

6" rim measues 7 inches wide / 2 = 3.5 b.s. when there is 0.0 Offset
so stock 6" rims with 4" backspace have 1/2" Offset
so Hub to Hub is greater than Track Width by 2 times 1/2 offset, or 1 inch

Hub to Hub, both front and rear, is 1.0 inch greater than
stock Track Width dimensions based on stock wheel offset.

1968-69 Dims
59.38 inch = Front Hub to Hub = 58.38 Stock Front Track + 1.0 inch
58.00 inch = Rear  Hub to Hub = 57.00 Stock Rear  Track + 1.0 inch

1970 dims from AMA Data sheets
60.30 inch = Front Hub to Hub = I6 59.30 Stock Front Track + 1.0 inch
60.70 inch = Front Hub to Hub = V8 59.70 Stock Front Track + 1.0 inch
58.00 inch = Rear  Hub to Hub = 57.00 Stock Rear  Track + 1.0 inch

AMX Trim Rings are 2.5" wide
AMX Center Caps are 1-7/8 tall, 2-3/4 base dia & 2-1/4 top dia
Dish is 1/4 deep x 1-7/8 top & 1-3/4 btm dia
Goodmark Part # 4012-588-691S for 1968-74 Chevy II Nova SS
appear to be the same or very similar.
