What year block is that? It doesn't have the bosses for the old front motor mounts. Guess that's what you meant to show us. I know 63 and I think 64 blocks have the bosses still in front... probably because of possible warranty replacements. My guess is that's a 65 or 66 block... so the last couple years may not have the front mount bosses... The casting numbers I have are 57-62, then 63-66... but AMC sometimes made minor changes without changing the casting number.
What's the casting number of that block? |

He ground all the early mounting points off. All later blocks had the early cast bosses, just not drilled and tapped. The pictured block is highly modified, ground, polished, etc...

Thought it might be, but had to ask! I'd never seen a later model 287/327 without the bosses...
