hi - i have a 76 pacer with a 258 auto which has a cracked manifold and smelly and sluggish as a result. the exhaust shop can get the gasket kit.
does anyone know if the manifold from a 71 Hornet (232 manual) would work on the 76 Pacer? i have the manifold off that Hornet parts car.
thanks

Might. But smelly and sluggish, I would suspect the catalytic converter is shot/plugged.

199/232/258 use the same manifolds. I don't think the Pacer used unique manifolds, just air filter housing.

There are some early Hornets that had a single barrel carb where the fuel was supposedly preheated through conduction of the exhaust manifold. I have personally seen this in the yards and it is a nightmare to figure out. Avoid.

I would highly recommend that when replacing the manifolds you use a Remflex gasket. Available from Summit...RFL-10-003 You will only have to do the job one time.

I learned the hard way.
