A normal 904 only needs to have the rear clutchs applied and the low sprag to work in order for it to move forward in low gear. I dont know how your valve body works, some also apply the low reverse band. Your rear clutches have to work in 2nd and 3rd so they must be working. My guess is that the linkage is not adjusted correctly or your valve body does not apply the low reverse band and the low roller clutch is damaged. Second option is common on street driven manual valve bodies. This question is kind of like calling a DR and asking what is wrong with me.

After thinking about it to have trans bind up in low gear it must have clutches or band applying when it should not.

Sounds like the park lever may be engaging when put in first.
