I have searched, and get different answers, so I want to get a fresh answer. I want to possibly buy a 68-9 AMX, and convert it to a 4 speed. What pedals and linkage/pivot will fit/work in it? I see 68-9'only, 68-70, and someone said 68-74. I am not worried about originality, just what will work for it. I have everything else figured out, and have a 390/4 speed to drop in it, but not pedals and stuff to the tranny fork. Thx

Look for '68/9 parts for a '68/9 AMX. The '70 stuff will work only if you get ALL '70 parts. The '68/9 can't be mixed with the '70 parts. What year 390 and tranny? I believe the T/O yoke post and ball bearing pivot in the bellhousing is different also between '68/9 and '70.

I have the complete 390/4speed setup, so will use whatever size it is, since it is still together. I believe it is the 69 390, but not positive, will figure it out when I separate it all.
Thanks for the info on the pedals, I will be on the lookout. Cricket |
