I told my wife the only way I'm driving to St. Louis is if I can add factory AC and maybe a 5 speed. I don't think I will be trailering it, to much work :) She wants to go to Denver the year after also! I will start looking into the factory air but am not overly optimistic about finding all the parts.... See ya...

I added factory AC to mine, and that's a lot of work too.  Hardest part (and biggest expense) is finding a center dash pad with holes for the vents, and then you have to remove the entire dash to replace the heater box with an combination heater/AC box... assuming you can fine one.  Condensers can be bought new, and the York or Sanden compressors are plentiful.  If you decide to do it let me know and I can tell you where I got some of my parts.

I've rented U-Haul car haulers before. They're are aluminum so not too heavy. If you have a vehicle big enough to haul it you'd be in business without too much trouble.

Managed to get home last night. The entire trip this summer was 6988.6 miles with 136 hours 24 minutes 52 seconds of seat time in the tow vehicle. I had similar heavy winds both ways Cam, it sure hurts fuel economy. That being said the truck did great and just plain pulls every hill with ease. Today was spent unloading the truck and cleaning 2 million dead carcasses off my truck and trailer!

Thanks to Alex, there was no shortage of beer (thanks buddy!) then there was the "tree sauce" that Chuck and Todd brought down from Ontario!
