What year did Rambler change to 12 volt elecrtical systems?

They list 6 volt starters for ramblers up to 55, so 55 to 56 would be likely. You know AMC, if they had parts they would use them so I could see 56's sold with 6 volt systems.

My second car was a 56 Rambler, it was a 12 volt system.
