Bruce, So the tanks were originally just the galvanized look (no paint), with some black undercoating on the bottom and the sides? I am getting ready to order a new tank and want to make sure I get it close to the correct look. Blasted my straps and will need to paint them correct as well. Doug

I put strips of thick black plastic tape at all the metal to metal contact points. Things just seem to last longer that way.

I got my new tank from Kennedy a few weeks ago. Looks great, nice reproduction. Has anyone had any problems installing the new retaining ring for the sending unit? I got a new sending unit assembly as well and having a hard time getting the retaining ring started. Should be so simple...........
