I've had 3 Hornet 6 cylinders, 70, 72 and 74, none had a front sway bar.
A sway bar only came standard on the V8 Hornets.
You might have got it if you ordered the optional HD suspension on a 6 cylinder. The parts book I have only lists one sway bar # for 70-75 Hornet. I took a sway bar off a 79 Spirit and installed it on my 74 Hornet , I don't remember having to drill any holes to do it, they were already present. |

I also put a spirit sway bar on my 6cyl gremlin, fit perfectly with no mods. The diameter was 1.125 if I recall correctly. Brackets and links from the spirit fit exactly right.

I don't know, but I've heard several times what tyrodtom says above, std for V8s, not for 6's. Maybe that means there's only one type.
I'd think there would be multiple bushings listed for the front brackets if there were two diameters available...could check that.

I do know that the V-8 sway bars have a funny bend in them to clear the oil filter on small bodied cars. |
