I just recently found my 71 Javelin has the factory fleet UCA. Also noticed that it has some numbering stamped near the ball joint rivit along the outer edge.
Did AMC stamp fleet UCA differently than standard ones? Will post picture in the morning. |

It appears to be a date stamp? Not sure... though I am surprised on the lack of surface rust. I just shot it with PB blaster to let it soak. Heavy build up of grease and coating, and wire brushed the area and wiped off with a rag.
Oddly I have no clue to how to read such code. Looks like 3 with a group of numbers 034. My build was completed on the last week of April 71. Maybe the group of 3 numbers are Julian calender date. Being it would fit in to February 71. The 3 could be shift? I am almost tempted to clean this bugger off completely to see if any other numbers show up in other areas. |
