Yeah not to much of a pain... And you know what they say it cost to be cool, the spool isnt super fun either but unless it needs it or makes it faster its not on my car, kinda 60's super stock idea.

Ollie,
What about the shaft itself...you don't send that along with the box to Lares Corp. Should I cut mine and use a rag joint? thanks! Mark |

I wonder if cutting the shaft affects the column at all like will the steering wheel still operate correctly without up and down movement?

The issue is the mounting bolts on the frame, nothing to do with the steering column. Having AMC Fun, Ollie |

I would modify it to the two rag joint configuration if it was mine. The rag joint is a vibration dampener. Correct you don't send the shaft to Lares. Just the box. Having AMC Fun, Ollie |

I would think the only adverse effects would be removing the rag joint completely. You would feel all the road vibration thru the steering wheel. As far as steering operation it would be the same. Having AMC Fun, Ollie |
