Regarding carpet for the 1969 AMX - my AMX had an after-market Hurst shifter (rectangular bar)…which created a larger hump that is more toward the driver area, than the original Hurst shifter had. I see where I can order carpeting for an “automatic,” “AMC 4-speed,” or “Hurst 4-speed.” Has anybody had any luck with any of these fitting over an after-market Hurst shifter (rectangular bar) housing?
Also - I noticed that Legendary’s carpet is much more expensive than APD. Does anyone know why? |

I don't know if you got anywhere with this yet, but from my experience Legendary is way overpriced on everything, and not worth it. As far as I know, I'm quite sure that ACC is the only company making carpet for that car. All the vendors just repackage their carpet and mark it up.
Regarding the choices on that, they just make a different shape where the original shifter hump would be located. So, if you are utilizing an original plastic shifter hump, just tell them that. You have to cut the holes for the shifter handle anyway. Sometimes it is easier to just call ACC direct, they will help you to order the right one. Walt |
