I have problem with valve springs on my AMX, today I broke second one from Crane 99839 set which I installed this spring, they have about 6000 miles now.

HR232 lists 99893 dual springs which i also have but as the spring seats and guides have not been machined i cant use those so i selected single 99839's which should have enough pressure for my use.

99893 spring specs @ 1.8" installed height seat 149 / 358 open
99839 spring specs @ 1.8" installed height seat 121 / 320 open

Can anyone tell if my springs are unsuitable for their application or is it just a bad luck?
Can anyone recommend suitable springs?

Kris

Sounds like something may be wrong with your set up.

Did you check everything?

What is your retainer to seal clearance, spring to guide clearance, installed height. Are there any signs of contact, rub marks or damage, on the broken springs and components that went with them?

Is the spring that broke on the same valve?
